been a while

well its been a long time since i last blogged, in the midst of the busyness of school it doesnt exactly take first priority. easy to forget about it. i believe i last blogged about deciding to go to china, and amazingly enough the time is finally arriving. in a week i am flying off, most thankfully accompanied by kaila svaboda and her mum, to nanning china. all very exciting and nerveracking. will be an experience. hmmm so since i last blogged our class successfully managed to raise enough money to fly to perth and enjoy a very busy time there. i visited where ill be living in china. i graduated (incredible) and now im in sydney with relatives, turning 18 in two days.

hope you're all doing well... we'll see whether my blogging gets any better hey.

oh, and that cd i mentioned below, the sanctus real one, i finally got it, thanks to tim.

retrospect

      Hello!

Well, guess what? on Saturday i finally decided what i am going to do after graduation! Right now, after praying with my parents and such, I am planning to apply to Beijing Foreign Studies University, and go and study mandarin there. I'm excited. It's so awesome seeing God's guidance and plan for my life. Growing up i never would have imagined that straight out of school i would go to china by myself. But then, i guess i always expected that i would feel a lot more grown up when i finish school, but, i don't. Don't feel as old as i thought i would. I still feel like a child, too young to be going out into the world alone. But that's what's so exciting about it i guess, God's plan for my life is more than anything i could plan for myself.

And with that thought, i have just been reflecting on what such amazing friends i have here in singapore. You guys are beyond description. God has blessed me so much with you. You are people who really support me in so many ways, and are so fun to be with. And, although it sounds cheesy, you really do bring me joy :p Thank you for showing me so much of Jesus, and teaching me about Him just through the little things. I'm looking forward to spending our last semester with you!

basketball finals

Just wanted to say, good job to all the open guys team for their game today. Good job for doing your best to glorify God in all you did, and for playing well when it was so difficult. It was an awesome season:)

slight bhb-ness

Random comment... i was just reading Hannah's blog, about international night n all, and she was talking about how she loves performing. And i was realizing how much i enjoy it too. There's something about being able to show a bunch of people something that you love and have fun doing, and finally being able to perform something that you've spent so long practicing and doing over and over to try and get it perfect. international night was really fun, but went by fast (im kinda slow in bringing it up in blogging... two months slow or something) but yeah it was a night of really good performances.

'Closer' - Sanctus Real

I'm not satisfied in this lifetime
I'm following you to the other side
There's nothing that can change my mind
You're all I need

You're the only tie that binds my heart
Away from you I'm falling apart
We need to be closer than we are
You're all I need

So what can I do to get closer?
I know there is more my heart can bear
I give you control 'cause I need you
To take me there

Like a bird flying southI'm seeking you out
And there's no rope that can tie me down
I'm running home, I'm a slave set free
You're all I need

I am waiting
Draw me closer
I am waiting
Make me stronger

(thanks go out to tim for introducing me to this song... oh and btw... you were right chow, you did write the name correctly, i just got confused with the mourning september song)

dancing in september

A very big Happy Birthday goes out to my little sister Whitney, who is ten today, and now owns a fabulous pair of fluffly blue slippers. They feel like you're walking on a trampoline or a bed (i walked up and down my stairs in them to try them out lol). Anyway, once again.. Happy birthday whitney!

And a random comment... Mr Fleishman (how did i go for spelling?) has got to be one of the funniest teachers i've had in ages... made me almost die laughing after school the other day... "I did the math!" "it's impossible!"

Well I shall be off to finish homework now... Goodnight :)

undeniable

Last night i went to alana's house, after an hour of flailing long red chinese ribbons around in practice for our upcoming debut as chinese ribbon dancers at international night. Anyway, twas fun i must give alana props for her brownies... they were fabulous :) and dhany liked them too.. after she decided they weren't too cakey. We watched "Raising Helen" interesting movie. Made me think about what would happen if i was in that situation (both my parents died suddenly). Would i move back to australia or stay here?... tough question. anyway, onto brighter topics. Good job to mimi in her Bible class rap today (if she even reads this) was hilarious. who knew she was a dancer? oh... guess what... after my drama with oatmeal raisin granola bars (the quaker kind) my mum finally bought something different.... baked apple. so alas no cinnamon yet (to my dismay lol) but oh well. random comment, among many others, Mat kearney is really good.. you should all go listen to him.

i shall be off now... this week has been really busy so now im exhausted... see yall

happy birthday to me :)

hmmm well today was my birthday, still is for a matter a fact, have 42 minutes left of it. Anyway, had a very relaxing morning. Got to sleep in until many relatives started calling from Australia and i was dragged out of bed to talk to them. Then i ate breakfast... and went back to bed lol. Was nice. Havent done that in a while, having work and all. So ended up cleaning my room and hanging around... until Hannah and Kristy turned up three hours early for my party lol. About an hour later Sanna, Alana and Sarah came too, so it was all good. Everyone else came later and i must say it was good to see all you guys again, after alot of you being away for the summer. We ate good food (thanks to my mum for making it). We played a kind of mix of charades and pictionary which turned out to be fun. Was wondering if it would work to begin with. Many thanks again to Hannah for helping so much with everything. And thank you to all of you guys for the great presents :) love them all hehe. Anyway to sum it up had a good day.

well finished working full time on Saturday. Such a relief! so happy that it's over... yes there were very enjoyable times working with 'colleages' and having a totally crazy boss.. but then of course there's also the boring long hours when you have nothing to do and feel like going home and sleeping. but on the whole im glad i worked for the summer i guess.

anyway, i shall be off now.. bye!

with open hands...

Hello! I have been home alone all week. On Saturday my family flew off to Hong Kong to visit my relatives and have a great time. I believe they've spent the past few days on my uncle's boat having lots of fun sailing through Hong Kong's many bays etc. So i have been missing them. But surprisingly enough being home alone has not meant that i've been lonely :) But unfortunately it has meant that without my mother's great cooking skills my eating routine or whatever you call it has been very strange. Yesterday i ate four meals and the day before that i think i ate two. After yesterday's four im not hungry today. It's very unusual.

Well I got back from work at 12:30 last night. Was no fun. Finished our back-breaking labor at about 12:15. But my boss was nice enough to give us all free Neutrogena 'refreshing shower gel' in return for our efforts. And he bought us all dinner.. always nice getting free stuff.  Hmmm did you know that Harbour Front turns off all the aircon at about 10:30. It got hot pretty soon after it went off, so that was no fun. But anyway, it was definitely an experience restocking the whole store in one night.

I shall be off now.. keep enjoying your summer!

P.S. just in case anyone is wondering... Watson's is having a $1.99 promotion! Buy ten get one free!
